Front disc brakes are a nice improvement to the vehicle. Power brakes were
also added to apply the appropriate pressure for the disc brake setup. Disc
brakes require more force to stop than drum brakes. Disc brakes have a
faster reaction time than drum brakes. Disc brakes dissipate heat better
than drum brakes.

Need to use Granada tie rods ends because the Granada spindles use a larger
tie rod end. Another option: www.mustangsteve.com. He makes bushings
so you can use your original tie rods, both inner and outer.

I used 1978 Ford Granada outer tie rods ends
I used 1967 Ford Fairlane inner tie rods
I used the stock tie rod adjusters

Roomer:
1971 Econoline 100 outer tie rod end will work with stock inner tie rods?

'78 Granada Disk Brake Swap
Here are 1978 Granada disk brakes.

Here are 1978 Granada disc brakes from the rear.
I spent a little time taking everything apart and giving the some
fresh paint.

Here we have the original 1966 Ranchero tie rods on top and
the new tie rods on the bottom. Note that the original outer tie rod
is much longer than the new '78 Granada.

The inner tie rod is from a 1967 Fairlane. Note it is much longer
than the original.

The tie rod lengths are flipped from stock...

Here are the TRW parts that I used on both sides.

I used the Moog parts book to choose parts. A friend with a
1966 Falcon suggested using the Fairlane inner tie rod. Good call...
ES445R is the 1978 Granada outer tie rod end
ES363L is the 1967 Fairlane inner tie rod

This is the inner tie rod.

This is the outer tie rod.

Here is the new linkage.

Note that the length of both side was about 15.5 - 16" long.

Plenty of room for alignment adjustments...

Inner Tie Rod again...

Another inner tie rod shot...

Close up of the original tie rod so you could read the measure.
